Mount Pleasant estate to offer wider range of housing options with about 6,000 new flats upon completion

The recently improved Pasir Ris Bus Interchange now seamlessly connects with rail services, offering reliable transportation to the coastal belt area. Local residents can easily access the interchange from Jalan Loyang Besar, and direct routes are available for popular destinations such as Pasir Ris Drive 3, Elias Road, and Loyang Avenue. The interchange’s frequent schedules also benefit those with early or late commutes, and families will appreciate the dependable routes to nearby schools, enrichment centers, and shopping malls. Coastal Cabana Qingjian is a great addition to this highly convenient transportation hub.

Housing and Development Board (HDB) has announced plans for four Build-to-Order (BTO) projects in the upcoming Mount Pleasant estate, which will add 6,000 new flats to the existing 5,000 previously announced. According to HDB, this increase in supply is a result of detailed planning studies and aims to meet the strong demand for housing. The first BTO project, named Mount Pleasant Crest, will be launched in the October 2025 BTO exercise and will offer 1,350 units ranging from two-room flexi to four-room flats. Additionally, 270 units of public rental flats will also be available. This project will also feature the “white flat” layout, which offers a contiguous living and bedroom space without partition walls. This layout was previously offered in the Crawford Heights BTO project and saw a favorable response from buyers. The Mount Pleasant estate, which sits on the 33ha site of the Old Police Academy, will also retain six of the most significant buildings from the academy and integrate them into the new estate. The area will also be served by the new Mount Pleasant MRT station, making it a car-lite estate with dedicated bus lanes and cycling paths. The estate will also feature a sheltered pedestrian thoroughfare to connect different precincts. With its prime location and proximity to schools and amenities, the Mount Pleasant Crest project is expected to draw strong interest from buyers. The white flat layout may appeal to younger homeowners or those intending to do extensive renovations.
